I didn't know the name of this flower until I went to a craft fair and a lovely man asked me if I knew what the flower was. I realised I hadn't actually read anything about it, and once I came home from the fair I looked it up in my little nature books.

This is what it told me for any curious nature people!

"A Climbing perennial, the downy leaves with 5-8 pairs of bluntly heart shaped leaflets and branched tendrils. Flowers in short-stalked spikes of 2-6, rather dingy purple, fading bluer, rarely yellow, tending to be bluer in the N. Pods hairless. Habitat: Widespread and common in hedgerows and bushy places. April on wards, flowering late into autumn."

It's from a book called " A pocket guide to wild flowers"

The man who asked me about this inspired me to always read up on the plants I find beautiful and paint. How great would it be that with paintings and drawing I'd be able to let people know about little parts of nature a wee bit more?

This print is packaged with love and care (and you never know what else)

Enjoy!
